Ashish's models take to SKATEBOARDS to showcase his designs... but it proves too much for one woman whose dress slips off

Most models find strutting down the runway in vertiginous heels hard enough, but the women on Ashish's catwalk had an even tougher job on their hands.

The Delhi-born king of sequins, scrunchies, slogans and all things metallic unveiled his spring/summer 16 collection on the final day of London Fashion Week - and asked models to showcase his designs on skateboards.

Models donning sheer dresses, glitter-embellished tutus and slouchy tracksuits skated down the catwalk - but it proved a little too much for one model whose dress slipped down en route.

The blonde model, who wore a peach sequinned dress, had to dismount from her mode of transport due to the fashion faux pas.

His fans include Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry and his previous collections have been inspired by the idea of a 'glamorous walk of shame', so it's no surprise Ashish's latest offering was pretty out there.

With sequins adorning almost every garment, and tracksuits emblazoned with the phrase: 'shut up, shut up,' his spring/summer 16 offering followed a similar theme to his previous collections.

Ashish Gupta first showed at the style celebration in 2005 and went on to win the New Generation award three times.

Born in Delhi, the son of two doctors, he studied Fine Art in India, and then moved to London to complete an MA at Central St Martin’s under Louise Wilson, according to his designer profile.

After graduating in 2000, his plans to work in a Paris design studio were foiled when his bag containing his entire portfolio of work and his cash was stolen at the Gare du Nord.

He quietly began making clothes for friends until being spotted by Yeda Yun, then of Browns Focus, who gave him his first order in 2001.

He is this year celebrating 10 years of showing at London Fashion Week and will be doing a retrospective show as part of the Victoria & Albert museum’s ‘Fashion in Motion’ series in October.

London Fashion Week drew to a close today after an action-packed weekend in the new venue of Soho.

The style set will now move on to Paris and Milan for the city's respective fashion weeks.

As with many of the British capital's glamorous ladies, Alexa Chung has turned heads while enjoying the stylish sights on offer at London Fashion Week.

And on Sunday, the 31-year-old was a noticeable presence when she attended the Topshop Unique's spring/summer 16 star-studded show.

The British beauty displayed her svelte frame in a stunning navy jumpsuit, which boasted a plunging neckline and overwrap detail, as she arrived at The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre.

With her brunette tresses swept to the side, the pretty model looked nothing short of glamorous in her outfit choice, which was styled further with chic loafers and a leather bag.

She injected a subtle pop of colour to the proceedings with a rose-tinted lips, while accentuating her striking complexion with well-defined eyes and tinted cheeks.

Mingling with a whole host of stars, Alexa sat on front row with the likes of Anna Wintour, Suki Waterhouse and Cressida Bonas.

Taking to her social media sites, the style star shared a snap of her fellow fashion pals which was simply captioned: ‘Me and my close friends.’

The night before she joined forces with Daisy Lowe as they went along to support their pal Henry Holland at the official House Of Holland show.

She covered her slender frame in a very loose-fitting black dress that hung off her shoulders, held up by two dainty spaghetti straps.

The writer and TV presenter's figure was mostly swathed in the thick fabric of the unique LBD, but she made sure to balance its weight out with her lovely legs on show, and elongated with a pair of vintage-style purple heels with ankle straps.

Her bob-length brunette locks were coiffed into a super-cool style, in tight waves and pushed behind her ears in an effortlessly casual manner.

Other VIPs at the star-studded event included Nicola Roberts, Poppy Delevingne and Nick Grimshaw.

Bella Thorne flutters around in butterfly-inspired maxi dress at J Mendel's NYFW catwalk show

She's been pulling out the sartorial stops for her star-studded appearances at New York Fashion Week.

And Bella Thorne proved once again that she's a style force to be reckoned with at the J Mendel debut on Thursday, donning a sheer pleated dress featuring a navel-baring design.

The 17-year-old actress styled her auburn tresses in a wavy 'do, opting for a double braided headband while seated up front alongside a bevvy of A-list beauties.

J Mendel was treated to quite the turnout, with his front row including Fringe actress Emily Meade, Dancing With the Stars champion Julianne Hough as well as celebrity dermatologist Dr. Lisa Airan.

Bella played up her butterfly-inspired dress, which featured cold cut outs on the sleeves, with delicate gold stilettos.

The Scream star flaunted a youthful glow with her smoky eye shadow tones and mauve lip hue.

She teamed her flirty ensemble with gold hoop earrings and her go-to St. Laurent leather clutch.

Julianne, who was dressed in a cloak and plaid midi, stopped for a quick interview with Extra before being treating to the designer's latest collection featuring vibrant wraps and embellished fabrics.

Bella later took to Instagram, noting her latest display: 'On my way to the @j_mendel show this morning....caught a bit off guard but still like a lady. Loved my dress and the show!'

On Wednesday, Bella was last seen showing off a darker approach with her style cues, taking to the Harper's Bazaar Icons Event in a ruffled mullet dress with leather zip up boots.

Gregg Sulkin, her 23-year-old beau also made an appearance, looking dapper in a fitted suit and dress shoes while staying by his lady's side, even planting a few kisses on her.

Bella later opted for a more revealing look, swapping out her elegant attire for a party-friendly leather crop top which she teamed with light wash denims.

The Teen Choice award-winner was joined by her boyfriend Gregg late into the evening for the Interview Mag party held in NYC.

It's been a busy few days for the lovebirds, considering they've been making back-to-back fashion show appearances, venturing to NYFW's Marchesa debut as well as the Diesel Black Gold show.

Gregg, known for his reoccurring role on Wizards of Waverly Place, took to Instagram about their his and hers styles for the event, writing: 'Two matching leather jackets & one vanilla milkshake to share please sir!"

Meanwhile, Bella has secured herself as one of the most in demand actresses before even hitting her 18th birthday, with seven projects slated for a release within the next year.

Aside from lending her voice to Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip as well as to Ratchet and Clank, she will also star in the tragic drama The Midnight Sun alongside Patrick Schwarzenegger.

It's likely Bella is more than ready for her next red carpet display or movie premiere after visiting some of New York's most popular Spring 2016 releases, including her most recent stop at J Mendel.

It may still be summer in San Diego, but it’s going to feel more like fall on Saturday at Fashion Valley.

Style experts from two of the country’s leading fashion magazines, Glamour and GQ, will be at the mall for a four-hour interactive event that will showcase the runway trends for the coming season and how to translate them into everyday wear.

“There are a lot of fashion events around, but I don’t think there’s anything of this caliber to come here yet,” said Chris Lane, director of marketing for Fashion Valley.

“It’s nice to have that New York or L.A. experience come down to San Diego.”

Retail sales at clothing and clothing accessory stores were up 3.6 percent over last year, according to the National Retail Federation.

While the industry doesn’t break out dollar amounts spent specifically on fall fashion, industry analysts estimate that the heavier, more durable cool-weather garments, like jackets and boots, make up about a third of the approximately $1,450 shoppers annually spend on clothes and shoes.

And retailers gear up for the shopping season with special events like Saturday’s “LOOKBOOK Live” to help consumers figure out how to spend that money.

Named after the photo compilations, or lookbooks, that have been put out by design houses after each new collection for years, and now by department stores and mass-market clothing lines, the fashion fest will offer consultations with the magazine stylists in four trend-themed “closets” outfitted with fall apparel and accessories.

The experts will take into consideration shoppers’ lifestyles, body types and budgets. And with Southern California’s temperate weather, what may be in vogue in New York — or on the pages of Glamour and GQ’s September issues — won’t necessarily be on the racks at Fashion Valley.

“We’re not wearing parkas out here,” Lane said. “We’re localizing the event to make it meaningful for San Diego.”

While there won’t be a catwalk per se, male and female models will appear onstage as the stylists discuss what they’re wearing.
