Sofia Vergara Chose a wedding dresses By Designer Zuhair Murad for Joe Manganiello Nuptials

Here comes the bride! Beirut-born designer Zuhair Murad has outfitted Modern Family actress Sofía Vergara for Oscar and Golden Globe bashes. Now, in the new issue of Us Weekly, a Vergara source says the star has entrusted the couturier with the most important party dress of all: her wedding gown!

Vergara, 43, will wear a custom-made, fairy-tale frock to wed fiancé Joe Manganiello on Nov. 22 at the Breakers Resort in Palm Beach, Fla. The duo has been engaged since the Magic Mike XXL hunk popped the question in Hawaii last December — even reciting his proposal speech to the Colombian-born beauty in Spanish.

One of the couple’s first wedding-planning challenges was narrowing down the guest list. Vergara told Jimmy Kimmel on Sept. 14 that the guest list number is around 400, joking, “200 are, like, my family.”

The pair recently sent out luxurious 8-by-8-inch invitations for the affair. “They’re classy and white,” says the source. “It cost around $7 to mail each one!” Guests will be treated to a Saturday night cocktail reception, followed by the couple's vows on Sunday, planned by celebrity wedding consultant Mindy Weiss.

Among the guests will be the bride-to-be’s Modern Family costars, including Julie Bowen, who told Us Sept. 18 that Manganiello, 38, is “like a caveman” with Vergara. “It’s sexy! I love it,” she said. "She’s so strong, and so [used to] calling the shots all the time, and then you see them together and there’s a part of her that kind of melts. It just warms your heart when you see that, because it’s not all the time that you can tell that there’s an aspect to this relationship that’s very -- how shall we say? -- primal.”

While Vergara told Martha Stewart Weddings that there will be a “special” cake table with “a big wedding cake and lots of desserts,” there won’t be a gift table: According to the insider, the couple have requested donations to Vergara’s beloved St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. And as for pre-wedding jitters? There are none, the source says: “Sofia isn’t nervous at all. She can’t wait to walk down the aisle and be with him forever.”

Instagram Star Blake Scott Reveals How Fashion Bloggers Earn Money

When Blake Scott picked up the phone, he had just finished a shoot for the luxury Italian brand Canali. “They only work with one or two American influencers a year,” he said, “and I’m lucky enough to have worked with them twice this year.”

Once a college science major studying to become a physical therapist, Mr. Scott is now the unlikely possessor of a style blog, The Scott Effect—not to mention more than 371,000 Instagram followers who look to him for men’s fashion guidance. He has also just been selected as one of the latest reps for Bar III‘s “Setting the Bar” campaign, which celebrates millennials’ ambition and entrepreneurship.

Given Mr. Scott’s new gig, we caught up with the style star to learn more about how he brings his own goals to fruition.

How did you go from physical therapy to fashion blogging? My girlfriend at the time suggested we start a blog together. It was very lifestyle-focused. This was before Instagram; when I finally got Instagram, I saw every time I posted a photo of a watch versus a photo of my dog, I was getting more likes. I’d post a fashion photo on Instagram, tag my blog, and people would go over. So we made the decision to go full-on men’s fashion.

Was there a moment you realized your popularity was really growing? There was one time, at Fashion’s Night Out, back when camel was really trending. I got a vintage camel jacket, wore it that night, took a picture, put a couple of hashtags, and got 900 likes. I was like, “Oh my gosh, I’ve only had Instagram for two weeks!” To me, that was very motivating.

Now that Instagram is as huge as it is, do you feel more competition than when you started? How do you set yourself apart? I’m not this guy who has a background in photography or fashion. I’m like a regular Joe—I just stumbled into it. I’m the people’s blogger—a guy’s guy. What you see on me is very relatable—it’s what your boyfriend could wear, or what your dad could wear.

Is The Scott Effect your full-time job now? Yes. My fiancée [Ashley] is my partner—she does all photography and the creative direction. I’m the stylist. We made the decision after we graduated to go full-time into the blog, and not go to grad school. It was a difficult decision, but we had blessings from our families, so we went ahead with it.

Did you have a plan for how you would make money? No. I didn’t even know you could make money. The first year, it was 100 percent for free. I did it all for product exchange—someone would say, “I have shoes, I love your style, I’m going to send them to you.” I was still doing a regular 10-to-2 job [as a driver].

Ashley and I went to New York for vacation, and I ended up meeting bloggers out there that were already getting paid, doing collaborations, and it inspired me to do more. You could actually get paid for this! They told me to think of it as a business.

What do you charge for now? If you send me a pair of shoes, I’m not going to charge you for that, because you’re not asking for anything in return. The only thing I do charge for is creating content; we have to sit down, scout locations for a specific shoot, bring on a videographer. We might have to go get a certain type of car to make the whole image relate to the suit. But if you send me a tie and ask if I want to wear it, I’ll say sure.

What’s the hardest part about your job? Being true to myself. [There’s pressure] to work with brands that don’t fit your brand, but you know they have dollar signs. [It’s hard] for me to tell them no—that’s the most difficult part. But I have to say, “Hey, you know what? Your brand doesn’t fit with mine.”

Where do you see The Scott Effect in 10 years? The blog has been taking off, and I want to expand on that—maybe do a little more lifestyle [content] with home and décor. I just moved into my first loft—I’m super into it and I hope to do a couple of collaborations, and see how that goes.

Do people ever criticize you for not having a fashion background? Some have skepticism at first—they’re a little hesitant. But my blog, my Instagram—that alone is my resumé.

The Bill Pohlad directed film also stars John Cusack, Paul Giamatti, Jake Abel, Tyson Ritter, Kenny Wormald and Joanna Going.

Dano portrays the younger Wilson and John Cusack plays the singer in his later years in the 80s as he descends into drug dependency and madness.

Banks plays Melinda Ledbetter - the woman who 'saved' Wilson from a life of madness and misery -in the flick which was released in June to impressive reviews from critics.

'It's really a triumph of love and I don't think people know this side of his life,' Elizabeth told E! Online of the film.

'And I really am loving how so many people are discovering what a courageous man he was and how he kept his creative fire going despite everything.'

She continued: 'And to bring his battle with mental illness into the open, I think is really beautiful and inspirational for families everywhere.'

paź 08 2015 Star Melinda Clarke's Beach Wedding
Komentarze: 0

Marriage is an adventure. You never know what life’s going to throw at you and your significant other during your lifelong journey. You’ve heard all of the inspirational mantras surrounding the sacred bond between two people in love. But for actress Melinda Clarke, a.k.a Marissa Cooper’s mom from The O.C., the star literally signed up for the ride of a lifetime when she said “I do” to her professional river rafting husband, Adam Farmer.

Now, a month after getting hitched, the CSI: Immortality star is spilling all the exciting, intricate details — from the gorgeous off-white organza gown she wore down the sandy aisle to the wedge flip-flops (yes, flip-flops!) she wore under her dress — about her September nuptials to People.

Melinda Clarke Wedding

The star, 46, and her new husband, 38, tied the knot on the sandy shore of Dana Point, California, in September. But long before saying “I do” under the arbor made of wooden paddles (an ode to Farmer’s life on the water), the couple came together in one of the most spontaneous (and surprising!) scenarios.

“We met when he was on a river rafting trip,” Clarke told People. “We were friends for a few years and we really connected through nature and his love of nature.”

Fast forward to the future, when the two decided to tie the knot — and decided to do it all on their own. The couple channeled their shared love of the outdoors and their “go with the flow” (pun intended) personalities during the wedding planning process, says Clarke.

“We didn’t have a wedding coordinator,” she said. “My husband and I planned every little detail by ourselves– we basically said it’s a beach fiesta, and we did gourmet taco trucks, feet in the sand and made it very casual.”

Melinda Clarke Wedding

Clarke says that she wanted the ceremony to be so casual that she envisioned walking down the aisle in an airy, no-frills dress. “At one point I was going to just go Cindy Crawford, [in a] simple white dress,” she said. But that instantly changed once she saw her dress — which was also the first dress she tried on.

“I was trying to do non-traditional dresses, and then at one point I said, ‘Well, at the very least I need to go to some real bridal boutiques,'” she told People. “I had at least half a dozen appointments at all the places around L.A., and just on a whim I took my daughter, who’s 15, to the Glamour Closet, and they had all of these sample dresses. It was the first dress I tried on, and I bought it. And I canceled all of my appointments because it was just perfect.”

The star accessorized her gown, an ethereal off-white organza design with a sweetheart neckline and intricate buttons up the back, with a pair of dazzling sky-high flip-flop wedges. (Wait, what?)

“Because we were on the sand, and I kept thinking of how my husband, who is 6-ft.-4-in., I figured I’d go barefoot,” she said. “But a few weeks before [the wedding], I had just finished shooting the CSI finale — we actresses have to wear so many high heels over the years and it’s so painful on the feet. So a lot of times, the costume designers give us these big wedge flip flops, so on camera we’re still tall, but they’re super comfortable. So, seriously, at the last minute, I wore these super-tall, high wedge Bebe flip-flops!”

And to keep with the ceremony’s laid-back vibe, Clarke enlisted her glam squad — makeup artist Lynn Barber and hair stylist Jeffrey Rubis — to create the perfect bohemian bridal beauty look that’s very much her own and nothing like the characters she played on TV over the years.

“I just wanted [my hair and makeup] to be super casual, bohemian, ethereal,” Clarke told People. “One of the things that I’ve realized as I’ve gotten a little bit older is I’m really kind of a hippie at heart. I’m not like, Julie Cooper from Newport Beach — that’s a character. I’m not Lady Heather [from CSI], certainly. I’m this hippie beach girl from California, so I wanted [my hair and makeup] to be romantic and beautiful but not over the top.”

Barber, whom Clarke says taught her how to expertly apply her makeup when they met on the set of a TV show in 1994, worked with the star to create a fresh-faced look with a pop of pink on her lips.

As for the star’s hair, Rubis, who’s also the owner of Jeffrey Alan Salon in Palm Desert, opted to keep Clarke’s locks long and down with a few little plaits braided in on the side of her hair for a added bit of texture. Topping it off? A traditional veil, which posed its own set of challenges.

“We thought it was a good idea at the time, but it ended up being kind of windy,” she said. “So during the ceremony, my daughter was holding this long thing in her arms, throughout the entire ceremony, so it didn’t wrap around my face.”

Melinda Clarke Wedding

So, what’s next for the happy couple? Enjoying the married life, Clarke says. “I’m just really, really excited to start this chapter in my life,” she said. “He makes me mushy. That’s what I said in my vows, he makes me mushy.”

And as for the honeymoon? If you guessed they’d celebrate their marriage on a river raft, well, you’re right.

“We don’t have any definite plans, because we wanted two things: We wanted to relax, and we wanted to have the excitement of river rafting,” she told People. “And it’s rainy season in Costa Rica right now, so there’s nothing set, but it’s either going to be something like Fiji and Costa Rica. But it’s all based on schedules — my daughter’s schedule and work schedules — so we might do it next year during spring break and all that.”

She added: “Or we might do it in a week, we’ll see.”

Devoted Mom Goes Dumpster Diving for Daughter's Designer Wedding Dress

When you become a mom, you know you've got some pretty tough tasks ahead of you, like changing thousands of diapers and caring for kids with nasty stomach bugs. But you'd think the "dirty jobs" were behind you once they got married. Not so for one mom who slogged her way through a dumpster after her daughter's wedding gown was mistakenly thrown in the trash.

Ugh, can you imagine? Here's what happened: Lucinda Ballard returned to her Manhattan apartment with her daughter's Oscar de la Renta gown, planning to have it preserved. Somehow during unpacking, the building's staff mistook the word "dress" for "trash" and off went the pricey frock to the garbage!

bride and mother of the bride

Wedding dress: vintage wedding dresses

Thanks to the quick thinking of the building superintendent, the crew and Ballard were able to track the gown down to a dump in New Jersey. After climbing in -- wearing masks, gloves, and boots, of course -- and ripping apart countless bags of trash, the mother of the bride was reunited with the dress! Does this have the makings of a rom-com or what??

Talk about a mom going above and beyond! With the dress safe once again, Ballard reported the whole episode to her daughter, who posted photos of her dumpster-diving mama on her Instagram account and hailed her as a hero!

We're so glad this story has a happy ending! Let's hope someone else wears this gown now that Mrs. B went to all that trouble! If a future bride does say yes to this dress, imagine what a wild story she'll be able to tell each time someone asks, "Have you found your dress yet?"

We can totally understand not wanting to see a perfectly gorgeous gown go to waste, literally, but the thought of our moms dumpster diving is pretty heartbreaking. She deserves a really nice souvenir from the honeymoon or maybe a grandbaby ASAP, LOL!
