This is what happens when Kylie Jenner wears your dress

The dress itself comes from New York designer Houghton's Spring 2015 collection. It's already sold out and out of reach for Kylie's massive online following — for reasons beyond its $1,475 price tag.

Articles instructing readers to "Shop Kylie Jenner's Comfiest Look Yet" by checking out oversized plaid dresses from other retailers immediately popped up to help fill the void in Kylie obsessives' wardrobes.

Designer Katharine Polk also told Cosmo that she decided to bring back the design, since she figured she deserved to profit off of her own dress.

The dress's original lightweight wool fabric was unavailable and out of the price range for Jenner's young fanbase anyway. So Polk instead created a (more) affordable $450 cotton version, which went on on to be the fastest-selling item in the brand's history. Sure, you can still buy it in a black and white plaid — but that's not what Kylie wore.

Polk never actually intended to harness Kylie's monstrous fanbase. She quickly learned her lesson about the youngest Jenner's influence. "I mean, the dress was loaned to Kendall and Kylie took it," the designer told Cosmo. "So you can read between the lines there."

When four Kardashian/Jenner sister apps — which feature tips on how to cop each sibling's style — debuted on the same day, it was Kylie's that immediately soared to the top of the charts.

There are countless fan blogs dedicated to dressing just like Kylie that predate the apps — Kylies Style, Kyle Fashion Style, Kylie's Closet and Kylie Jenner Style, to name a few. Basically, any combination of the words style, Kylie and Tumblr will get you there.

And of course, need we say anything more about Kylie's remarkable (sometimes concerning) influence than the words "Kylie Jenner lip challenge"?

Polk's designs have been featured in prestigious fashion magazines, like a little publication called Vogue — but she says that Kylie's endorsement did more for her than Anna Wintour's.

The Kylie Jenneration is poised for total world takeover.
